Is CrossFit suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. CrossFit is for everyone, and at Louka we meet you where you're at. If you've never done CrossFit before, our Intro to CrossFit course teaches the fundamentals in a supportive environment, so you can start safely and build confidence at your own pace.

Once you start into classes, every workout is scalable. Our coaches will adjust movements, load, and intensity to match your current ability and fitness level, while helping you to progress.

Do I need to be fit to start?

Not at all. CrossFit is designed for all fitness levels. Every workout is scalable — the coach will adjust movements and intensity to match your abilities and support your progress.

You'll be amazed how quickly you feel like you fit into the community and know what you're doing.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity, functional fitness programme designed to build strength, endurance, and overall fitness. It combines weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio in constantly varied workouts that prepare you for anything life demands.

At Louka, we deliver CrossFit mostly through small group classes with around ten participants, so you get coaching, community, and the support to keep progressing.

Do you offer introductory sessions?

Yes. Our Intro to CrossFit course is designed for people who are new to CrossFit. It is delivered one-on-one (or you can bring a friend if you prefer).

It includes three 45-minute PT sessions, plus your first group class, for $90. We know that once you've made a decision you are keen to get started, so we can normally arrange your first introductory session within a few days.

How often should I train?

Start where you're at. If you're new to CrossFit or returning to fitness, two sessions a week is a great place to begin. As you build confidence, many people move to three or more sessions a week for steady progress.

Consistency over time leads to results. CrossFit programming and the group class environment are designed to help you enjoy coming regularly and keep training without the usual frustrations of training on your own.

What is the membership cancellation policy?

We always hate to lose a member, but we understand that needs change. We require 30 days' written notice to cancel your membership. To cancel, please email us at team@crossfitlouka.nz.

Do you have showers?

Yes — we have showers available for you to use after your session, so you can head straight to work or on with your day.

Is there parking available?

Yes — there's a dedicated carpark right at the gym for members and visitors during classes and open gym. There's also plenty of parking available on Kingsford Smith Street.

Please note the carpark is managed and parking restrictions apply.
